Robert Gutherman
As a co-founder, Mr. Gutherman saw a need in the hospital and nonprofit markets for a more socially responsible way to address executive retirement benefits. With these sectors facing increasing challenges in attracting and retaining key talent, Mr. Gutherman saw TriscendNP as a provider of superior benefit programs for executives that simultaneously promote financial stability for the participating organizations.
Prior to TriscendNP, Mr. Gutherman served as President and CEO of Wealth Management Strategies, Inc., a financial services firm which he established in 1996 in order to provide key services in the estate and tax planning areas, as well as in the executive compensation arena, to accounting and legal firms around the country for their high net worth individual clients, closely held businesses, and not-for profit entities. Since that time, he has successfully marketed many sophisticated concepts in these areas and has forged strategic alliances with a number of the nation’s leading accounting and legal firms.
Mr. Gutherman has over 40 years in the financial services industry. Initially, as a principal and owner of a large property and casualty company, he was responsible for the overall marketing and development of the business succession-planning segment of the firm. After successfully negotiating the acquisition of his firm by a major NYSE company, he agreed to develop similar programs for them around the country.
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from New York University, Mr. Gutherman holds life, health and accident insurance licenses in multiple states. Living in the New York Metropolitan area, he is active in several charitable organizations dealing with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
